Who is Stumpy and What Goes on at His Hatchet House?
Stumpy’s Hatchet House is a place to throw some hatchets. We’re the first indoor hatchet throwing venue in the United States and this location was the first franchise location to open. We offer an exciting atmosphere and an alternative form of recreation. If you’re tired of escape rooms and bowling, why not try something old that’s new again? Axe throwing is a primitive and organic sport, and it’s a perfect release for those seeking adventure. Hatchet throwing is a great way to bond with friends, family members, or teammates. Get your frustrations out and participate in some healthy competition by scheduling your axe throwing party with us. Oh wait, we never told you who Stumpy is. WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR HATCHET THROWING?
The minimum age requirement for hatchet and axe throwing varies by location. Please check the specific location pages to verify if the minimum age at the Stumpy’s you’re visiting is 18 or 21. PLEASE NOTE: We have a zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking!
HOW DOES PLAYING START?
After about 15-20 minutes of training, most guests are hitting the target and honing in on the bullseye. When the group feels ready, it is encouraged to try a variety of hatchet and axe throwing target games. Instructions are in the pit, or you can ask a throwing coach. Want a head start on things? DO YOU SELL FOOD OR DRINKS AT STUMPY’S?
Yes! We sell pizza (cheese, pepperoni, veggie, and meat lovers), hummus platters, and pretzels. We also have soft drinks, wine, and bottled beer.
CAN PEOPLE COME WATCH?
Of course! Non-throwers are allowed to come join the social throwdown, though we will ask them to pay $15 plus tax. With that being said, the rule still applies that all Stumpy’s guests must still meet the minimum age requirements of 18, whether they are throwing or not!
